Valencia in movies

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

Knowing the exact locations where some movie scenes were shot is many times a request from the tourist visiting a city. It surely happens frequently in Rome, where almost the entire city has been setting of the lovely classic Roman Holiday, or Paris, with hundreds of visitors walking around the streets of Montmartre, staring at its monuments and going inside the stores Amélie used to visit.

If you stop and think for a minute, many more examples come to mind. Well, Valencia has also been the background of many movies, and that is precisely the goal of the Valencia en el cine (Valencia in movies) exhibition, hosted by the Museo Valenciano de la Ilustración y la Modernidad (MuVIM): to watch and study the most representative productions filmed in Valencia. There are six in total: La mala educación, Bala perdida, Tranvía a la Malvarrosa, La maldición de la Pantera Rosa (The Curse of the Pink Panther), Satán Café and La gran aventura de Mortadelo y Filemón.

If you’re interested the MuVIM organizes this film exhibition until March 3rd. You’ve got more information here.
